Blog Scare

It has recently come to my attention that some people have gotten in trouble because of their blogs. I'm trying to keep mine under the radar so to speak, even though nothing offensive will be posted. I'd say this blog is rated G. Still, I am nervous about posting. There are no clear indications about what is acceptable and what isn't. If I ask anyone about it, I'll be inviting inquiry into this blog, and subsequently, scrutiny of my photos and word choice. I'll have to think on this.

You can always go with "I heard some people have gotten into trouble by blogging about what happens here, what advice would you have for me if I were to blog about the experience?" By posing it as a hypothetical, you avoid having to say "I am already doing this", and you're not lying -- it's a hypothetical situation.

I suppose I can see how people could get in trouble, but your blog is no threat. You must continue writing about Japan, it is so interesting and refreshing. Freedom of Speech!! But I don't know how that works in Japan. Maybe you can password protect the blog?

Thanks guys, I think I'm going to keep writing until someone says something. When they do, I'll explain that I didn't know, and simply make my blog private somehow. A major part of this program is a cultural exchange, to internationalize Japan but also to open up japan's 'bunka' (culture) to the rest of the world. I consider this part of that objective.

Paul -- I lost your address of your blog and your dad gave it to me. I just caught up with everything -- WOW!!! What a wonderful experience you're having! Keep writing!! We Americans are supposed to be stupid, right? You can seal the deal if you say you're from Texas. Love -- Aunt Denise
